I think this is the only soufflé pancake place in South Bay (please tell me I'm wrong) so I usually come here to fulfill cravings. The wait time does get long sometimes since they make it fresh and they do get busy. They advertise wait times of 25 min but I've come in before and only waited about 10 min. The pancakes are super fluffy and warm. I usually get the original and it's not crazy sweet! Each order comes with 3 pancakes which is perfectly enough for me if I were to make it a meal, but it's definitely enough to share as a snack with 2 people!

I've wanted to come here for so long and I'm so glad that I finally made the trip! This place is so cute and well decorated and the food is delicious too! They tell you when you get there that it will take minimum 25 minutes to get your order, maybe longer if it's busy, but the wait didn't feel like that long. My friend and I enjoyed our coffees before our orders were ready and it gave us plenty of time to chat and catch up! I got the strawberry pancake and it was amazing! They were so light and fluffy and the strawberry cream was incredible! I can't wait to go back because I want to try all of the different flavors they have, and if you visit during the weekdays they have specials, too!

We just happened to be walking around the area and came across this place! I had heard of it a while ago as somewhere to get Japanese fluffy pancakes, but there was usually a long line. We were there on a Sunday around 9:30am and there were only a couple of groups there, so I jumped at the chance to finally try it. We ordered the strawberry pancake to split between two people. It did take about 25min to come out, which they warn you about. I was pleasantly surprised at the size of the 3 pancakes! I don't think I could have eaten a whole plate myself. The pancakes were really good! It's not exactly a light and airy pancake, but more like custard. It still is lighter than American style pancakes. The strawberry cream was nice too, it didn't taste too sweet or artificial. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend the drinks. I got the lychee tea, and the syrup taste was very strong. I wasn't able to finish it. The mocha wasn't bad, so maybe try a coffee drink instead.

Love the pancakes! The strawberry one is the best, but of all the whip cream, I like the original one the most. They have a different whip cream for the strawberry, ube, and matcha. The family always order the strawberry, ube (second best) and original one, and will order additional original whip cream on the side. We've tried the matcha. It has the typical slightly bitter matcha powder taste. Not a fan. I love that their menu is simple, but I think they can add some kind of protein like bacon, fried Chicken, and/or sausage. Not a fond of their drinks. I would rather order else where

I ordered the strawberry pancakes and they were too sweet. It (disappointingly) used quite a lot of strawberry syrup that was very artificial tasting. $20 for 3 pancakes doesn't sound that good of a deal, but I was actually pretty full after. The ambiance inside is very nice. It feels super clean and the workers all wear masks. They have Uno cards for you to play during the 25 minute wait for your pancakes. The Uno cards are quite gross after so much usage, so we all went to wash our hands in the bathrooms, which were not as nice as the outside but serviceable. Except for one that had a creepy flickering light.

7/16/24 - Came here to apply for jobs with my friend and we lived the texture of the pancakes as well as how fun and sweet the workers were! Thank you for accommodating me when I asked if I could change to have my drink less sweet!

Came in on a Saturday morning and they let us know that it would take about 20-30 minutes in advance for the pancakes to be made. It was definitely worth the wait, we ordered the ube souffle pancake and strawberry souffle pancake. My husband and I also ordered drinks, there was already a lot of people seated waiting for their orders. We enjoyed how fluffy the pancake was but also how flavorful it was, there's a good amount of seating inside and 2 tables outside. Would recommend coming again!

Food: If you're here for the soufflé pancakes, then by all means!! SUPER FLUFFY YUMMY PANCAKES!! Kind of expensive but it is not easy to make on your own! Ambiance/Service: Very polite/friendly service! They do have you clean after yourself, but other than that the place does look nice and clean!

I finally made it to Hanabusa after years of watching it in the neighborhood! We went for Mother's Day, right at opening since I was worried it would be crowded. Found a table right away and put our order in at the counter. The food: I loved it! I got the Ube pancakes (seasonal) but our group tried all 5 options on the menu: ube, matcha, strawberry, plain and chocolate. The Ube is a little subtle but tastes good and looks beautiful. The matcha is the least sweet and has a decently strong matcha flavor so make sure you like that. The strawberry has the strongest flavor and is VERY sweet! I did not taste the chocolate but my son said it tasted like just Nutella scooped on top - he liked it. My other son said the plain is good - esp. if you don't want any of those other flavors, just whipped cream on top. What else you need to know: There's only 4 options of pancakes on the menu (plus maybe seasonal). Plus some drinks (I got a latte). There's no other food, or savory options. You'll pay $15-17 for 3 pancakes + sauce and fruit. They open at 9 and close after lunch or when they run out of food - or early if it's a holiday (like Easter or Mother's Day). There's no reservations, and the pancakes could take up to 30 minutes - we brought Uno to play while we waited, but it only ended up being 10 minutes, I think because we were among the first people there in the morning. The cafe is pretty minimalist but the food looks and tastes great. I enjoyed it a lot and plan to go back sometime.
